Default Documentary Made In 1915 Discovered - US Navy Of 1915

Got tipped off at Ace Of Spades website and saw this :

http://www.filmpreservation.org/pres...cumentary-1915

http://www.filmpreservation.org/pres...cumentary-1915

Worth seeing, it runs for 11:24 minutes. It is a clip from a three reel documentary made to show the the daily life of US Navy personnel.

The image quality is excellent, probably remastered or preserved and copied.
A delight to watch.

That is truly an incredible find!

Might also be worth reposting in the SH4 forums too.

Thought the dive planes on those subs were not only huge but high too. Loved it when the film said that each 14" shell fired from the Dreadnought costs $970. Imagine what it must cost to fire a naval gun now

Thanks for sharing it matey

4:13 Thats an awesome, naked gun.
Love the written comment:"This gun is fired by electricity"

Must have been amazing back then as laser weapons are to us now

7:40 "Physical drill"
Haha, look at all the sailors 'dancing' on the foredeck!

Would love some sound though...
