It's hard to believe that it was 33 years ago on Sunday that we lost a music legend. Stevie Ray Vaughan was killed in a helicopter crash at Alpine Valley in East Troy Wisconsin after playing two shows on August 25th and 26th. The show featured such musical heavyweights as Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, and Buddy Guy. Concert goers all said that Stevie played with a musical intensity and was easily the standout performer both nights.

Stevie boarded a helicopter shortly after midnight on the 27th when it crashed into the side of a hill in the fog killing all aboard including Stevie Ray.

When Stevie Ray entered the music scene, he brought back the blues. In fact, Rolling Stone magazine called him the 7th best guitarist ever. Stevie Ray Vaughan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015 with his band Double Trouble.

We've got "Legacy Week" down here. I don't know if other countries have something similar.

"Legacy" is a charity organisation that supports widows and children of deceased servicemen. They do a good job, and it's great to see volunteers from all ethnicities selling badges/teddy bears, raising money for such a worthy cause.

I listend to Tomita a lot when I was at school. Brought me into classical music, more than anything else, including my father or school courses in music. Thats why I value Tomita. In fact, all music classes at school were a lost case. You cannot generate love by lecturing theory. First must be the love, and then the interest caused by that makes you enduring the theory. Its a question of the correct sequence. My schools all did it the wrong way, and thats why they failed on practically everybody. Thats why today I fight so hard to learn piano (yes, I still do, but it has become very difficult: was Hänschen nicht lernt, lernt Hans nimmermehr...I learn. Very slwoly now. And fiogret a lot form the ealeier lessons. The memory is like a loop-tape in a telephone answering machine from the 90s.).
