External Torpedo Reserves
Not to seem like a complete idiot, but for some reason my external reserves aren't loading. I'm pretty new to the game, and i'm wondering if theres something i've done wrong. any suggestions?

I had that happen too, make sure your not in silent running and the weather is good enough, if you cant man the guns then you cant load torpedoes off the deck.
The just drag the torpedoes in the overview screen from one slot to the other. |

Hi Kimmers
Be on the surface, torpedo room manned, drag and drop it in a empty interior spare torpedo slot. it can take along time to actually load this torp, so, be patient...

If you want to be realistic, don't load externals at any other than a flat calm and only at a dead stop. Heck, if you want to be realistic, don't load internal torpedoes in bad weather unless you're very deep, and never reload during combat. Steep dive angles could make on come loose, and they do weigh about a ton. Not good for crew or the hull if that happens. But the actual advice is correct: drag the external to an internal slot (NOT directly to the tube), and wait an hour or so, because it takes that long.

Ok I know it’s not directly related with the subject but I think it’s good to have knowledge... I have searched the web but couldn't find the answer. Where did external torpedoes stored? I even analyzed cutaway diagrams but again could find it.

They were stored in special compartmens fore and aft under the deck.
Here is a good diagram of how it was done. And here is a picture.

Thank you for your quick responses, I love the spirit you guys on subsim have. Okay for the lazy ones belongs us I have tried to translate Steve's Picture at my best :
1- Cable tie (to prevent detachment due to tension) 2- Lifting Device Base/Stand 3- Cable (on tension) 4- Lifting Device 5- Support Bar 6- Maneuvering Lever 7- Cable guide pulley 8- Bed to guide the torpedo 9- Torpedo 10-Torpedo loading hatch 11-Manoeuvre Winch 12-winch Motor 13-Clamp and brackets 14-Bunk bed and torpedo support (I guess this is the answer of my question-the location of external torpedo) 15-Pull lift equipment (rigging) 16-Support Jack while manoeuvring the torpedo 17-Resistance Helmet (?) 18-Pull lift equipment (rigging) 19-Torpedo tubes 20-Lane to maneuver with torpedoes
