The above is a little background on what the picture is.

It is an F2H-Banshee that landed on the wrong carrier. It is from the carrier USS Coral Sea and it landed on the USS Wasp.

I first thought of a Grumman F9F Panther and "The Bridges of Toko Ri", but the rear canopy did not fit. Then i saw that in the film they were flying with Banshees as exchange or vice versa(?), so i was not entirely wrong and the rear canopy fitted the photo. Next i looked for "McDonnell Banshees" and "chalk"

I guess it was sheer luck you could not partake this time
