Default Campaign Map Time Progression

The addition of a pause function to the campaign map with the first patch has been a welcome addition. But may I suggest a different, more elegant solution to manage time in the campaign screen? In essence this would be the Mount & Blade system. Time is paused by default, unless you click left/right to move the sub, which also advances time. In case you want to pass time while remaining stationary, such as to lie in ambush, you would hold down space.

Right now, after a tactical engagement, I always scramble to pause the campaign as fast as possible in order to reorient myself. With the system suggested above this would not be necessary. This is only a minor UI streamlining and no big deal, but I think it would be more elegant.
