I could be mistaken but that might be old data you’re looking at, 2019? In March 2021 NPR reported it was the 3rd leading cause of death. In July 2021 U.S.News reported it had fallen to 7th. Once again good old fashioned American ingenuity, know how and modern medicine has prevailed. People are smarter for it others just can’t let go of the drama.

Adjusting for hype, the network news I caught this evening suggests that infection rates are doubling, saying that the 4th wave is upon us. Or rather, upon the unvaccinated. Some regions are breaking previous hospitalization records. The Trump Worshippers are culling themselves out.

Hmm... I don't know if it runs strictly along political lines, but my firm impression is that there are a lot more Trumpers who won't get vaccinated than liberals. Lord, everywhere I look it is pretty clear his base is "I ain't gonna get vaccinated" vs the hyper-nagging liberals who won't shut up about it.

Even among my family members, half the ones who are vaccinated did it against their will (their employer made them do it) and they won't shut up about it.

I don't know, democrats are pretty good at making laws that they expect other people to follow, but they often seem to think said laws don't apply to they themselves.


...and Republicans have learned to lie. We won't give you a straight answer to anything. If we gave a straight answer to some questions it would just be used to create more massive federal spending that wouldn't solve anything. We may say we aren't vaccinated just to piss snowflakes off. LOL


The one reason I could see Trump voters not getting the vaccine is because they don't think their votes will ever be counted fairly again, and they're ready to check out of this soon to be socialist utopia.

Lambda is spreading through Latin America. Seems to become the next big Corona thing after Delta. Apparently not more lethal but more infectous than Delta and P1 (Brazil). Vaccines seem to be less efficient.

I have not gotten the vaccine. I'm the wait and see group because the vaccine was rushed to market. To many, "it should, maybe, perhaps, not sure, we will see, we don't know" for me. We now see that that variants are coming almost monthly. Those vaccinated are being warned to wear masks. Your vaccine may or may not help. You can still carry the virus in the nasal passages. Is the original vaccine good for a year? Will a booster be required? Once again, "it should, maybe, perhaps, not sure, we will see, we don't know" has reared it's uncertain head again.

Has anyone read anything on new vaccines or continual work on a vaccine? Has big pharma stopped working on vaccines for possible variants or are they just "waiting to see"?

March 21st 2021 it was estimated that 50% percent of the U.S. population already had the virus yet only 17% of the U.S. population had been vaccinated. With each new case we come even closer to herd immunity. Currently 50% of the U.S. has been vaccinated. The dreaded fourth wave or current rise in cases pale in comparison to last year. Still the 7th leading of cause of death in the U.S. and still falling. It’s still my opinion funding, likes, and politics is driving this mess now. On the other hand homicides are rising in major metropolitan areas and nothing but crickets can be heard.
