SSN lockup at last waypoint of 1st mission.

The program loads fine.

Intro videos perform well.

All action in gameplay is normal, that is, no glitches.

All goals are achieved, enemies sunk, etc., then I'm left looking at the back end of the boat when the game/cursor become irresponsive.

WinXP. Compatibility Mode. Virtual CD Imaging. Various versions of DOSBox.
Have tried them all.

No apparent physical defect on the CD. No aberration of CD Imaging. No system detected errors.

Clues?
Anyone else experiencing this program fault?
