Default 65th Anniversary U-672

Today, April 24 is the 65th anniversary of the attack on U-672 by a RCAF Sunderland in the Bay of Biscay.

I was wondering if anybody may have photos/stories about U-672 and her skipper Ulf Lawaetz?

And of course the obvious one:

Why the interest?
Any family connection to someone on the boat?

Just curious.

Thanks!

I am actually the grandson of the 432 squadron pilot who attacked U-672 , 65 years ago today.

I have a website page about the attack:
http://www.castlearchdale.net//id12.html

I was hoping that others may be able to add to what I do not already have/know.

My main mission would be to find more photos or a surviving member of U-672 who may wish to share their story of the attack.

Hi there!

Interesting story and background information you got there on your page.

You don't happen to know by chance how I can get into contact with Sqdn. 59/S? I tried their historical society of Squadron 59, but got no response to my inquiries.

Thanks for both the compliments.

Sorry, I wouldn't know about Sqdn. 59/S.

Maybe try again?
