Placed some cobbles (paved?) on the ground for the workshop/man cave, at least there's already a roof and walls.
Electrics next week, then make the wall-ground area watertight around the edges

I thought that was me blown out as she went to the phone to speak to higher management but returned after five minutes and said 'How about customer advisor and a few other tasks where and when required?'

I responded 'I'll do a Tuesday then and see how it goes. See if we are both happy with each other'

She agreed and when I informed the wife she said 'Do you not think you were a little cheeky?'

I responded 'When you're prepared to do something for a business for absolutely nowt you should always try to ensure it is on your terms'

Probably get a phone call before Tuesday telling me the vacancy is no longer available
Well, Tuesday came and went. I changed my mind at the last moment and decided not to bother.

Today is a waiting game regarding the fitting of a new stair and landing carpet.

Saturday didn't happen because the carpet fitters van had broken down and Sunday was a flop because he couldn't hire a replacement.

Last night (Tuesday) didn't happen because he had too big a backlog.

Today I phoned the store manager and stressed in an authoritative tone that should the carpet not get fitted today I would contact the stores head office and lodge a formal complaint and demand a full refund of my money.

An hour later the carpet fitter rang me and assured me the carpet would be fitted this afternoon.

I'll wait and see.

A European sidenote: In theory Germany and Austria share the same language. Actually the Austrian flavor of the German language is much more direct, figurative, and colorful. And there is a phrase, that perfectly fits in this context: "Wer zahlt, schafft an." Translates to something like: He, who pays, makes the rules. But as a matter of fact it is untranslatable.

Carpet fitters arrived two hours early so I hope her majesty is suitably impressed when she gets home.

LOL I wonder if the bucket is from M&S because it's identical to the one the wife got our granddaughter.

Getting ready for the election. Received my updated Precinct Chief information to include what to do if someone brings a gun to the precinct.

Fortunately, my precinct is a No-Drama precinct. Everyone seems to just want to get in and out as fast as possible.

This will be challenging with masks and distancing.

But the good news is that with all the early voting, they are only predicting just under 1,200 voters in my precinct showing up on 3 Nov. That should make the lines quicker and safer for the voters.

Looks like I have a good team again. Seven of my Election Officers are brand new. We need all the EOs we can get!

Still gonna be a long exhausting day, but worth it.
