Saw the lasted DC Animated film, Batman: The Return of the Cape Crusaders.


Very good and funny, a great homage to the series and the late 60s campy Batman feel is there, with funny lines and innuendos. Plus the original cast do the voices: Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar! Purrr-fect!

As far as a historical drama goes, I never expect much from Dutch productions in terms of cinematography and acting but this blew me right out of the water (no pun intended).

Whilst the focus isn't on the historical aspect of that time it does however capture some of the conflict between the states party and the orangists, the complicated relations with England and some of the battles at sea.

I found myself liking it quite a bit (well I'm Dutch after all )
I think it does a good job of awakening the interest into the Dutch history around this time.

So yeah, in short it was good just overlook some of the historical errors like the use of the union jack on the RN vessels.

Just as an aside: it's hard to believe our countries were ever enemies; I accompanied my old dad to Holland a few years back (he was in the 6th Royal Welch Fusiliers, who were part of the campaign in NW Europe) and as I walked with him and his mates through the streets of 's-Hertogenbosch, crowds showered them with flowers, running up and taking their hands. I remember one woman shouting "Thank you... thank you" over and over, and this so long after it had all happened. I've never felt so moved before or since.

Watched this yesterday. Good, some sub action though not a blockbuster, but I'll watch it again. Here's a trailer:

Don't trouble to watch this if you're a teenager wanting a good zombie flick.

This is an allegorical story which I expect would affect only the very empathic, or those of us who are parents. It would especially affect anyone who's had to contend with a seriously ill child. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays the dad and, as you'd expect, he's brilliant.

Saw Star Trek Beyond today. I must say that surprised me and I like it.
Of the "Abramverse" films, this one is the more trekkier with good scenes and a few tributes to the franchising and the 50 years.
Of course that it also have great action scenes and a few star warsish scenes, but not as the last 2 movies.
I think if they had take this kind of approach in the previous one, it would had close the gap of the Star Trek fans and this reboot universe.
