Many thanks

Anyways, I'll just have fun with PA and Sh-1 while the rest of the world plays SH-3 and Dangerous Waters...lol!
Well. yes, the world and his dog did beat a massive path to SHIII and DW, but now the froth has died down a bit there is a significant trickle of folk back to SH2/DC ( or least playing both as in my case )

SH3 is a very impressive piece of kit but there are aspects of SH2/DC that players miss ..... ......human DDs in multiplayer , and the sheer scope of vessels and options available. It is possible to sail as virtually any nationality and there are complete mod conversions for Italian (Betasom) , American( PA) , and partial conversions for British (Upholder) subs. Using the excellent Kriegstanz its easy to sail out as a jap sub hunting down a carrier force.

For a while the latest NVidia drivers were incompatible with SH2/DC but apparently the newest are no longer a problem.

This is just one impressive mod and should win some sort of award
PA was voted best naval mod, 2004, by SimHQ.

Dang, I didn't realize they ever got those two programs talking to each other. I remember the early reviews of that promised feature not being delivered on game launch--so I never paid much attention to SH2/DC (of course, my son being born right around their release may have distracted me too!).

I'll have to go hunt down a copy of DC and see what I missed over the last several years....

Mosey on over to the Wolfpack and Eagle league forums in SubClub ( link at the top of this page ) .... that's where all the multiplay activity is. I've always been able to play DD V Sub on a LAN , but I think that multiplay on the net has had its problems .

I would think until they bring out "if they ever do"
Destroyer Command 2 & American Sub sim.
Destroyer Command & Pacfic Aces would live on till then if not forever?

I have bad news. Seems that Ubi has just considered SHIII "finished" and dispersed the team to other projects.

There's a post on the SHIII forum that explain this.

This means that there will be no more patches or expansions and there's no SHIV on the near horizont.

Somehow it doesn't surprise me about SH3, it's too bad though

For you dedicated SH2 users, the Wolf Pack League sponsors a single player campaign called The Atlantik Campaign. We are currently finishing our 24th and final monthly mission.

It was so successful, that we've decided to run The Atlantik Campaign II starting in February. The administrators are currently surveying members to see if there is enough interest to start up a Pacific Aces single player campaign as well.

If interested in either Atlantik II or the PA campaign., please contact me by PM or email.
