Stupid Escorts in DC

Using DC 1.1 and attempting to escort BB to Panama. The three other destroyers and the BB are captianed by morons. Is there anyway I can have them help me kill stuff so they don't get killed?

You could try editing the mission file, adding in a line telling them to engage everything, but I can't remember if I've ever got it to work.
Have a look for DC FAQ's on this site, I think it is mentioned there as a way to get enemies to attack you more...
