Help with weird installation bug?
I have been playing SH5 on Steam for a few weeks. I got a lot of mods to work, but I grew frustrated with not being able to use some of the great content here at Subsim due to some of it being incompatible with the Steam version of the game. I went ahead and ordered a copy on DVD from Amazon.
I have uninstalled SH5 in Steam, and have run both Glary Utilities and Ccleaner. Yet this is what I get when I run the DVD installer: Install is greyed out and Neither the Play nor Unistal buttons do anything other than close the window. Has anyone encountered this before? Any ideas for me? Thanks much, Lode |

*SOLVED* (almost as soon as I submitted the OP)
Drrrp. I ran the setup.exe on the disc and it seems to be working. Fingers crossed. EDIT *NOT SOLVED*. Now that I have the DVD copy installed, when i try to hit play in uplay it launches steam and prompts me to reinstall my steam version. ugh. Last edited by lodebeard; 10-11-13 at 08:13 PM. |

Had to enter the activation key in the options in uplay. Seems to be okay now.
Let the modding begin! (crosses fingers) |

Hope you got it working.
Does the disc version have the same s****y Ubisoft game launcher malfunction as the Steam version? |
