Er,

I gave credit to the wrong person?

Perhaps its Dr. Sid who should be crowned King of the Computer Lab.

Anyways, I've discovered an issue with the new Agg tool though. When packing up new sounds the new file name doen't get carried along into the repacked agg file. What seems to happen is that the name of the last indexed file in the SFX folder is what the new file(s) get named to when the folder gets repacked.

I can get around that by keeping a window open in Explorer to the SFX folder and then renaming the last file(s) displayed after unpacking with the correct name(s) and retaining the associated indexes. That can get confusing really quickly though when that occurs with multiple files (which one's which?). Windows is rather obtuse in its sorting algorith, in that it sorts the files by offset, then by index, then by file name.

NOW I know why there is so LITTLE development of something of something that should

From what I can glean from various posts different SubSim boards, Sonalyst's attitude is the same thing that finally destroyed the Falcon 4.0 community.

easy, easy - not all so is bad .

You should at first ADD a NEW file by the program SCSoundEdit (JSteed's') then pack anew archive by the program Dr. Sid.
However previously you should rename files to a normal kind - instead of 0001434e-0002-a_65cmtorp.wav you should rename to a_65cmtorp.wav.
Then to place files of a kind a_65cmtorp.wav in a folder Sfx and to operate agg.exe.
It is labour-consuming job, but unfortunately now it is a unique(sole) way to make archive without damned clicks.

As a whole it will be such job:

1. Unpack archive by the program Dr. Sid
2. Rename files from 0001434e-0002-a_65cmtorp.wav to a_65cmtorp.wav etc...
It will be " the clean sounds " - without clicks. (move them in a separate folder)
3. Add new files in sfx.agg by the program Jsteed's (SCSoundEdit)
4. Unpack sfx.agg by the program Dr. Sid (Agg.exe)
5. Place in a folder sfx "clean sounds" (look 2.) and your new added files.
6. Execute Agg.exe (Utility Dr. Sid) for Unpack/Pack procedures.
* - I recommended create a bat file with contents strings for final phaze:
agg.exe sfx.agg
agg.exe sfx

7. Enjoy.
