Default UI mod without manual targetting?

...after many attempts at using manual targeting - I just cant do it. unfortunately all the UI mods I love have this switched over so I cant have the UI without having to have the manual targeting. does any one know of a UI mod that allows me to keep automated targeting - assisted targeting, but changes the layout and look of the standard UI?
many thanks
flag4.

Are you sure you can't? Isn't it just a matter of setting back the manual targeting option in realism settings? Automatic targeting is just a matter of point, lock and fire afaik. But yeah, it's been ages since I did that. Maybe I forgot.

Which UI mod are you trying to use? I don't know of any UI which prevents use of auto-targeting. Just select it on the Options page. Of course, you can't select auto targeting and then reload a saved career that used manual targeting. (You can but you have to edit the GameplaySettings.cfg file) But AFAIK you can always start a new career with whatever targeting setting you want, regardless of the GUI you have active.

I want to change the interface. each UI I have used has the no torpedo assistance - to make it more realistic, aob calculation input and all that. these UI mods are gorgeous to look at and use, its just I cant do the manual input myself - I just don't have the understanding - but id like to use the interface still but with torpedo assistance, aob calculations done by watch officer weapons officer. is this clear? it might not be - ive been drinkling a little.

hsie hard code fix is just for me - right up my street it just got the manual targeting set up, I cant use it but I love the mod. I cant change it in settings or anywhere else I believe.

cheers in advance - hik..

I use H.sie's and Stiebler's patches. I can say with certainty that neither prevents you from selecting and using Auto Targeting. Just go to the Options screen before starting a career. Uncheck Manual Targeting. Then play.

If you have a saved career, go to your savegame folder, then open Data/Cfg/GameplaySettings.cfg with Notepad. Change the line

ManualTargetingSystem=false

to

ManualTargetingSystem=true

Save the changed file. Now start SH3 and load your saved campaign. You will have auto targeting.

BTW: If you are using hsGUi, it lets you select Auto Targeting, also. What GUI are you using that does NOT allow you to select Auto Targeting?

Are you aware of the fact that, once you have saved a career, then changing any selection on the Options screen DOES NOT affect the settings in your career? You have to change the GameplaySettings.cfg file.

Default UI mod without manual targetting?

It is located in the read me files. The torpedo mod is an optional. You install it after the main MaGui Mod.
