Default Cod strikes USCG

Just watched the video on SUBSIM of the USS Cod departing for shipyard to undergo repairs. Apparently she is a fussy old gal lol. Glad it was not serious, no injuries am aware of.

Really is a delicate process moving these old boats though. Imagine is something went wrong and one foundered. Sadly, a time will come when they can't be in the water any longer. Growing up, the Drum in Mobile, AL was moored behind the Battleship Alabama, which was pretty cool. Next time am home will have to get some pictures from my mother circa 1996 or so. I recall looking through the periscope at the Alabama's stern and superstructure, was a pretty cool view.

Drum was corroding and damaged hurricanes over the years, so the dredged a channel, moved her in there onto large mounts, closed the channel and pumped out the water, she sits there today. Will admit it's more of an experience when she was in the water.

Anyone heard updates on the Ling or Clamagore ? Both are in terrible shape. Cavalla? Last time I visited her in Galveston, boat was in rough shape.
