Default Fuel leak

November 1944

TMO

Area D3

USS Baya (Balao)

Pretty rough depth charging in 200 ft of water after detecting during approach on convoy, dc screen showed minor damage to fuel tank but noticed that after tank was repaired and still submerged fuel was going down, then once surfaced went from 5 to 30 rather quickly traveling at 10 knots lol, seemed had a progressive leak, which finally stopped at 30 percent. Never had this happen before, when fuel tank is repaired, any leak usually stops.

Plenty to make it back to Fremantle but cutting patrol short lol luckily three ships down. Will make it home at decent speed but wondering if anyone has had this happen?
