I recommend the above site for those who want a brief, day by day, timeline of events to go along with game play. It's the most thorough site I've seen with enough information to cover the topic but short enough to be interesting.

The story about the court martialed skipper peaked my attention.
Still trying to find a some references as to what happened.

probably the Queenfish late in the war. it was carrying US/Allied POW's (and war materials) but the Allies told the IJF that we would not attack it and the Queenfish sank her. skipper sunk her in rainy weather. didn't see the markings.
read Sink 'Em All by Charles Lockwood. the story is near the end of book.
