Searching for a mod in download section

Hello, first real post here.
I need to know which mods work for GWX3 and which do not. Will every mod I find for SHIII work or just the ones that say for specificly for GWX?

What added ship mods? Uniforms? Radar? Arrrrrrrr......my head hurts thinking of all of those beautifull pieces of art I have been missing out on all these years.

See I have been playing on my lap top for years, never really knowing how bad my graphics were. I'm talking bad, no way it should even work but it did.

Then I stumbled in here and looked at the screnshots, then videos, then the greatest of all GWX. I placed my order for a new computter the next day.

Now I want everything. Can one of you help?

Oh...and if any of you guys that make these mods are reading this...

I think the problem is, there has never been a coordinated system by modders to include the core info in a structured way. Many people make a mod and do not include a readme. To answer your question, Will every mod I find for SHIII work or just the ones that say for specificly for GWX? You will need to read the mod description and see what the author has to say. Most mod authors will mention GWX compatibility in their description.

yeah, I just spent all night at work looking and trying to sort them out on my own. Wow! My eyes hurt now but when all of them are instaled it will be worth it.

What I can do is go through the list like you did, add a keyword to all the GWX compatible files in the description, such as GWXCOMPAT and then a search will pull them all up in a minute. Thanks for the idea

About how many did you find? You wouldn't happen to have them stored in one folder where you could snap a screenshot of their names and send to me, would you?

the SEARCH DOWNLOADS also sux. For instance try looking for OLC there: type olc and hit search. You will see "No files matched your query". The same goes for OLC Gold. No results. I was lucky my third time when I searched for word "Gold" alone.

It means if you lucky enough you might really find what you're looking for..

Well, you may be having trouble with the single line of instructions:
Type in your search with keywords or phrases separated by commas

Now, try entering OLC, Gold ... oh, there it is!

That's a step backward! This version of vBulletin does not allow wildcard characters in the search field.

You remember, search strings such as OLC*, * being your fourth letter. That sux!

Lets be off to see what the vBulletin bulletin forums say about this...................

Edit - This wont work for the Downloads section but for a general Subsim search, use this code in Google:

site:www.subsim.com olc

or

site:www.subsim.com GWX

This way you are not restricted to a 4 letter min. (Note Subsim auto converts URL to a link, just type as you see )
