Default Moin Moin to you all!

Moin Moin Kameraden und Herr Kaleun!

Thank you very much for allowing me to become a member of this community. My hat is off to it and Onkel Neal: it is one of the first things one finds when starting to playing a subsim and a true resource of great fundamental discussion.

The request was to introduce myself and my current subsim skills (and in my case especially: lack thereof :-)):

I am an engine controls engineer from the Netherlands and bought myself a DVD version of Silent Hunter II a long time ago. This might well have been in the early 2000's, but... I never took the time to play it. Doing it properly requires a lot of learning, hence time. Have some more of that right now and started playing SH3 recently , which has also been in my steam library for quite some years now along with SH5.

Progress is slow but there (and addictive!): have managed to find single ships in horrible weather conditions (hydrophone) and sink quite a number of targets by estimating courses and doing all torpedosettings in manual (did not find how to do this in SH5 so I am playing SH3). To do so I created my own laminated hardcopy of the "Kriegsmarine Angriffscheibe"/attack disc quite some laminated a range tables. I keep them on my desk while playing and I am always jumping back and forth between them and my keyboard: I am reluctant with mod's (never done that).

Have visited the USS Bowfin at Pearl Harbor and the U995 near Kiel in Germany. The U434 in Hamburg is still on my list and currently considering buying Wolfpack because I hear great things about it.

So: there it is....: Nice to see people that have the same interest and are obviously great at it.

Happy hunting and especially "Fette Beute" to you all!!
