"Thermae Romae" 2012.

A Japanese time travelling romantic...ish comedy. Very original and amusing.
Please watch it guys, you'll really enjoy it.

There is a sequel, I'll hunt for it.

EDIT......Every 10 minutes there's a couple of ads....but they stop halfway through the movie, thank god.

A). You HAVE to watch Part 2, it explains everything.

I love both movies too. I stumbled across it while surfing the net and was super impressed, not just with the visuals....Ancient Rome - the Colosseum with it's inner workings, the Baths, Palaces etc but also rural Japan - Hot Springs, Medicinal Sand etc. Really beautiful settings,

Also the character development especially Emperor Hadrian...they really did their research.......And it's made in JAPAN

A lot of funny scenes, like when the Sumo wrestlers get flushed down the toilet...

"All Quiet on the Western Front" premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last September to strong reviews, then debuted on Netflix in October. By many accounts, it was not a horse the streaming giant was heavily backing heading into awards season -- after all, it had new films from Noah Baumbach, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Andrew Dominik and Rian Johnson among its stable. Yet it leads the BAFTAs with 14 nominations and has received nine nominations at the Academy Awards, becoming the first German-language film to make the cut for Best Picture.

The film has not been without criticism at home, tabloid Bild accusing "All Quiet" of "Oscar-Geilheit" (or "Oscar-lust"). Whether it was looking for trophies or not, The Academy has a soft spot for war movies (16 have won Best Picture to date, including Milestone's 1930 adaptation). That it has looked outside the English language for its fix this year is a sign of more international and inclusive times.

A few days ago I saw the weirdest movie.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is the title of it.

It starts fine. However as the action continue I asked myself what the monkeys is this.

There's a Kung Fu fight scene and one of the bad guys tries to jump on a butt-thing. The woman, who is the main actress in this movie, does her best to prevent him from jump on it. Then some other bad guys come flying with his leg spread and land on this butt-thing and suddenly he knows kung Fu

I'll give it 1 Uboat for the original idea.
