Default Hunter/Killer Groups

The only thing better than escaping these is sinking one of their ships too

My encounter with Hunter/Killer groups never enabled me to sink one of my tormentors, I was happy to get away to lick my wounds. Sinking one would really make my day.

How did you manage that? Was this in NYGM?

Good hunting,

Right place, right time, luck is all. Hit the closest one to me, their port side. With their shallow draft, 7 m/s winds, approx. 800 meters, I shot all four bow torpedoes at it, one hit. I was alternating snorkel/non-snorkel at scope depth and they just came in my path. February, 1944.

The other four ships weren't happy

This is in a modded 8k campaign I have going. Has some NYGM parts in it, some GWX, some of this, some of that.

Always good in NYGM but surviving an encounter with an AOD Support Group is generally a feat worthy of savouring. Sinking an escort from one is a rare and wonderful thing, always provided that you survive.

Agreed. Surviving ANY encounter with AOD escorts is a worthy feat. SH3 escorts pale in comparison. I still play AOD for that reason, among others.

Aces of the Deep. Best u-boat subsim around. From 1994.
