Hillman? I don't really think so but it does look like a product of the seventies.

The more I look at this the more I think it's some type of odd conversion but the stand out feature for me is the slotted window in the B-pillar.

Not a Hillman.
It is a conversion, but built in a series. The B pillar is indeed a hint ..

Should have said "built in serial construction" (if not huge numbers), not "in a series" (if don't know whether this type ever appeared in well-known movies).

B-Pillar searches are effectivly useless as all I get are people trying to sell dress up kits or descriptions of what a B-Pillar is so I'll try narrowing down the where part. It's not French, Swedish, Hillman, SAAB, Skoda, Opal, or Vauxhall. Is it based on a German car?
