I am still loaded from this morning and laid over in a 10 acre gravel pit. I might be able to get some night pictures of wildlife.

Where are those pics?

BONUS DAY!
I had a load from Houston to Channohon IL, unloaded yesterday, then back empty to H-town. Stopped in Shreveport today at noon for my 30. Just as I was getting in the truck, Dispatch called and said "take the trailer to the Qualawash (4 miles away) and then go to Longview TX in the morning to load, then to H to unload. That means I will get paid twice for one trip. I love that stuff!

Bridges don't get taller nor do trucks get shorter.

There is a railway bridge in London, Ontario on Talbot Rd. that is very WELL signed that it is only 3.3 meters (10 foot 8 inches for you 'Mericans) 18 trucks a year usually hit it. It is NOT on the truck route, but that doesn't matter as 'some' truck drivers can't read English.

I think it is more the 'new' Canadians. Some college kids driving cube vans have got it, too. Smart enough to go to college/university but not smart enough to be able to figure out that 12' wont fit in a hole 10'8".

It is a good thing this is Sunday and the local haul I've got loads on Monday, early. It is pissing down rain, but I think that is partly my fault, I washed my truck and trailers yesterday.

Default wannabe truckers

A wannabe cattle hauler just pulled into the truck stop with a one ton pickup and a 25' 5th wheel cow trailer. He turned too short (I thought I left enough room he says to me) and hooked the first axle on the trailer on the ICC bumpre of the dry box he was trying to get around. Result? One destroyed tire and a large explosion. Might as well NOT put mirrors on his one ton, because he doesn't know how to use them.

Governor Kate Brown has proclaimed that Sept. 13-19, 2015 is Truck Driver Appreciation Week in Oregon. This coincides with the national observance, coordinated by the American Trucking Associations (ATA), which celebrates the more than three million professional men and women who deliver goods safely, securely and on time each and every day.
