I only watch it when it comes on the TV. A good movie to watch once in a while, but it's no Das Boot.

If you can switch your mind off and ignore the mistakes, then you can enjoy it. Someone pass me the popcorn, Das boot is about to start....

I like it as a action flick, but as a WWII war movie? NO!

It was on the other night. I forced myself, but my gag reflex caught up about 20 minutes in.

You guys are funny. It's just a film! You know we are all pissy about U-571 simply because we happen to know better when it comes to subs and crews, and the many "mistakes" in U-571... But, it would be like hating Star Wars because you knew how the Millenium Falcon operated! I admit, I groaned alot the first time I saw U-571, and there are parts of it that would make me cringe and roll my eyes even if I knew nothing of the sub world...BUT! I still enjoy it from time to time. It's entertainment.

That's debatable; I saw it once for free and wanted my money back.

Saw a movie today on TCM called "hell below" about an american sub in the med.
Wow! this movie was not half bad at all! had john huston in it,an of all people jimmy durante.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0024100/ had an actual surplus ww1 destroyer sunk in the filming, dam impressive too,dam thing was cut in half that scene alone was worth it.compared to U571 this thing was an epic,an filimed in 1933 to boot.Definetly worth watching if you have'nt seen it,it even has the actor who was winne the pooh's voice. His scene where he....never mind don't wann spoil it for you but that scene was great too. hell it even has a fighting (boxing) kangaroo in it:rotfl: I'll take this one instead. |
