Default [REL] PULL DOWN PACIFIC MAP for SH4

PULL DOWN PACIFIC MAP for SH4 for Patch V1.3
made by
CAPTAIN COX

Additional Features in Revision A:
New Search Patterns/New Icon in the Orders Bar
Added Weather Report/New Icon in the Orders Bar
Added Distance to Course End/New Icon in the orders Bar
Green Button MOD for Fuel, Battery etc.
Transparent Message Window
New Position for the Event Cam
New Position for the Clock (will revise this later as it opens to high for many I think)

This is a MOD I have wanted to do since the game came out.
Unfortunately we have not been able to do an "OBJECT" that can be moved around in the game interface on its own. So what I have done here is "the dirty way" of doing things.

My thinking was basically to use a "object" that is already in the game but is not used all the time, I decided to utilize the "Gramophone Interface" to accomplish what I wanted to do. But no worries, the actual functions of the Gramophone is still there.

As this mod uses the "menu_1024_768" plus utilizes Data/Graphics that was required to make the MOD,
I decided to include some "Popular" MOD's that uses the "menu_1024_768"
These include:
"Changed HUD Lamp Color" made by "jimimadrid" and "DarkShip"(As I had to implement a new ICON for the MAP)
"Mini-chronometer" made by "chomu" (This is one i think a lot of ppl use anyway, including me)
"Battle Stations and Silent Running buttons on all Hud menus. made by "Iceberg" (I use it myself plus I added "CRASH DIVE" and the "PULLDOWN MAP" Buttons at all stations.
I also included mine and zAmboni's "Smaller Vintage Navigation Tools"

Additional Features in 1.3 Revision A

There is TWO Versions of this MOD!
One with the COMPLTE! Pacific Map (my feeling is that the RESOLUTION IS NOT THE BEST!, but I include that just in case some one wants it)
One with the IMPORTANT AREAS, Transport lanes, Fly Zones etc. (Best Resolution!) (SHOWN IN THE PICTURE ABOVE)

WARNING THIS MOD USES THE "menu_1024_768" and will overwrite any previous MOD's Using the "menu_1024_768"

If you want to install this MANUALY as a STANDALONE VERSION OF ONLY THE PULL DOWN MAP! READ THE "README"!!! Included in the MOD.

CREDITS TO!
"jimimadrid"
"DarkShip"
"chomu"
"Iceberg"
"zAmboni" MASTER OF THE ZONE!
"vanjast" Giving hints and aslo trying hard!

If i forgot someone please post in the thread and I will correct it IMMEDIATELY!!!

Enjoy!

lol...nice idea combining all the numerous menu_1024_768 mods to make it more marketable. I've pretty much come to the realization that manually entering the mods is the only way to go if you want to get things done right. Nice idea with that big map. I'd use it if I didn't have that same map hanging above me stuck to the wall behind my monitors.

This is one SWEEET bit of work. Seriously, this is a major step forward for SH4. I was trying to do this at the very get go, but after a couple half hearted attempts i gave up on it.

I have a suggestion. One that im sure everyone will appreciate.

Could you add another pulldown page to this mod?

As you may or may not know, in SH3 we had a speed/ range chart to plot intercpets. VERY HANDY. Looked like this in SH3, please pardon the svwasticka Herr KapitanKox:

An english/imperial version of this was my orginal goal. Of which i failed miserably. I honestly just lacked any enthusiasm for messing with that Ini file that ive come to hate so much after monkeying around with it in SH3.

This is why in my mod pack, i used this isntead as a poormans supsititue:

Im sure you get the idea. At anyrate, i have to say again, this is an important piece of work you just posted and i have a feeling will be the base mod from which others may derive something else from. (not me however, im sick of that file, not touching it. nah uh)

Thanks a bunch "Ducimus"

Well this is the problem...as we have not been able to make a "proper" standalone "movable" object we are pretty stuck with whats in the game already...

Now I used the Gramophone for this...but what would be next on the list to cannibalize?...I think until we have a major breakthrough with understanding as to how to create the "Code" group (if at all possible) to do a movable object we are pretty stuck.

But I know exactly what you mean, and i could also think of other stuff that would be really nice to have as pull downs (there is a lot detailed maps of each of the bigger islands on the net for e.g.)

EDIT: I will of course pursue the answer to create a standalone movable object. Actually I will stick out my neck here...does any one of you guys have a @ adress to any of the SH4 DEV's...if so please PM me. I would keep it 100% private of course!

OMG! What a seriously cool mod, thanks very much. At this rate you could have the whole game sorted by V1.3.

Keep up the good work

Wasn't there a draggable Nomograph mod knocking around somewhere for SH4?

If so, how was that done?

I've been trying to come up with a solution for the pulldown charts too, for the same reason as Ducimus, wanted an imperial chart for speed and distance. I'll keep digging anyway.

I think you mean the one from "vanjast", hes trying to do a Sextant mod, but so far no go. I know there is graphics for a Nomograph but I don't think its draggable.

EDIT! it is but it just replaces an existing item in the game.
