Default Magnetic Pistol TII

Just tryin to clear something up as have found conflicting information.

Did the German TII G7e torpedo have a magnetic pistol? Or was this only available in the TII G7e?

All types were fitted with a pistol that had (except very early war) a switch setting to set between AZ and MZ. Not remotely from TDC mind you but on the pistol itself. Here is a writeup I did awhile back:

Thanks for clarifying. I was aware of the switch Germans added, and knew it was not on the TDC. Just way different things have read somewhat confused me. Then in the mod ( I know its a game but the creator of mod has a penchant for historical accuracy), in the TII description it is says impact only and the in TIII description is says magnetic and impact for pistol.

I had a feeling this was incorrect but wanted to make sure before correcting. Although there is a order that comes out to coincide with historical order to use impact pistols only. I changed the magnetic detonators as I did in TMO mod to have a random chance and not be linked to ocean state...it got predictable and annoying having torpedoes tied to ocean state when it had to do with magnetic fields at different locations on earth

Something annoyed me with US sideof SH 4, switching detonators was not as easy as flipping a switch on TDC lol. To my knowledge, there never such a switch for US. Torpedoman could deactivate magnetic features on torpedoes , which some skippers did when ordered to keep using the faulty detonators in fact of evidence they did not work, then if had torpedoes on board when returned, they reactivated them to avoid trouble, but it was more complicated than flipping a switch for US torpedoes.
