/\ Ahem! That's "Gone with the Wind" she died in the movie....and outlived all of her fabulous castmates! Incl. Hattie McDaniel who aced her out for Best Supporting Actress Oscar as Mammie!

I liked her best with Erroll Flynn in 'The Adventures of Robin Hood'
To think that they were lovers in that movie... and he died over 60 years ago

A star is gone ...
A great (even mythical) artist left us at a time when her most famous film is being censored, especially in France !
The Inquisition is back ! When are planned the giant autodafes with the film and the posters of the movie ? Yes, we are living in a wonderful time ... |

McCarthyism was long decried by leftists. But even if his practices were questionable, his aim was to protect his country from real and deadly aggressions, both inside and outside. There is now a desire from of the same leftists (or extreme-leftists) to divide the so-called "civilized" nations with the same questionable methods, to weaken them by feeling guilt, by repentance of so-called crimes committed centuries ago. In "civilized" great nations, one is responsible against the law only for acts committed by oneself, not those committed by one's parents, grandparents or ancestors. Very odd, this reintroduction of this concept of "collective guilt" that has wreaked havoc, however, in the last century ! About these subversion techniques of society, I read (and understood, I think !) Antonio Gramsci's work, but is-it the case for everyone ? Cheers. |
