Problem-wise, it was an uneventful day at the poll. It did start out a bit sporty as we found out that the school had a section of dead electric outlets in the area where we set up our equipment. Yikes that was tense.

Fortunately, we had extra extension cords and the school provided us with some more so we were able to daisy chain them from a working outlet. Might not have been up to code, but you gotta to whats you gotta do.

Other than that, it was a nicely boring election day which is just how we want it to be. The voters in my precinct are no drama voters. They want to get in, cast their ballot, and get out with minimal stress. We work hard to deliver that service.

We had a 67 year old woman show up at our precinct who had NEVER voted in her entire life, but THIS election motivated her to vote. That's awesome!

Because of the split statistics of Early voting, AB voting, and mail voting it is difficult, for me, to find out what the total voter turnout for my precinct was. I hope those numbers will be released soon.

What I can piece together was that about a week before the election, about 35% of the voters had already voted, there was about another 5% of ABs issued but not returned. No telling how many people voted in person between that report and 3 Nov. But at my precinct, we had a 27% voter turnout in person. But just based on the available stats, it looks like my precinct had a total voter turnout of about 62%!!!!!!!

With the unknown (to me) number of votes in between that last report and 3 Nov numbers, that turnout can only increase. From what the election office told me, voting in that week just prior to 3 Nov was massive!

I am glad it is over. I am totally exhaustive. I was scheduled to take all of Wednesday off as leave to recover. Unfortunately, I have puppy shots and I have to go into the office this afternoon.

@Platapus thanks for the update

@Aktungbby Maybe the french economy will strive, when the Russians now buy all their champagne, after having exhausted all Krim sparkling wine resources while celebrating in those last four years

Hah, the smilies work again!

And blank lines between paragraphs work, too!

Coming to terms with the first day of the one month lockdown but unfortunately the wife hasn't been chosen for furlough so I've advised her to twist her back or something of a similar nature that can't be disproved.

I got a commission out of the blue yesterday via an email I no longer use, which made me suspicious; there are a lot of painters getting scammed lately by elaborate frauds

I quickly saw that the guy was okay: he'd found me on Facebook, so I was soon able to establish that he was genuine by looking at his page. Facebook has been very useful to me in this way just lately

The small commission is for a robin sitting amongst some mistletoe in a winter landsape, so right up my street for a change

I'll show it in the Art Gallery thread when it's done
