The world decided to use another type of fuel and engine and

I can see Catfish are on the track-halfway there

It's true this engine was developed to pull tractors or especially this tractor.

Its the Allis-Chalmers electric tractor powered by hydrogen-oxygen fuel cells.

To be precise, the pic Markus posted doesn't show an engine, but a power source.
The actual engine is just an electric motor. Therefore Catfish, who figured also this out, will post the next riddle.
