Diving Duck has a mod DEDRIS made.
Might not be the basis for floating mines use.
Is that possible?:hmm:

Default mines

I asked awhile back for help in devising mines for sh4 for a coming IJN KRS submarine :

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...highlight=mine

which I never modded because there were no mines. I know they also used stock submarines to lay mines, so I would be interrested in this mod and maybe use it with my boats If you allow me that is.

is the dammage inflicted on a ship credited in the game as a sinking ?

I doubt that in reality any skipper (or pilot) was given any credit for any vessels destroyed by the mines they laid (dropped) so I don't think it does really matter that in SH4 you don't get credit.

It's like the supply and recce missions, it's another objective completed, thus it adds renown and a mutiplier for getting awards.

^^^^ yep. After the war, some sinkings were sort of attributed to mines, but it's very hard to be sure.

As a cross-reference, mines for SH3 (not SH4) have been released as part of the UbA Mod. Although this is not SH4, I know that there are many modders who are familiar with both, so I am just mentioning this, in case it helps. The link is http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=147445 and the mod download is available from there.
