Default Royal Canadian Navy

I thought members of the forum might be interested in learning that, after 43 years as part of a unified Canadian Forces with only Maritime Command as an official name to go by, the Government of Canada has announced that Canada's navy will henceforth return to it's traditional name of Royal Canadian Navy. In concert Land Force Command will become the Canadian Army and Air Command the Royal Canadian Air Force. This follows years of heavy lobbying by veterans and other loyal organizations to return to pre-unification naming. Last year, for the Naval Centennial, naval officers returned to wearing the executive curl as part of their rank insignia. This change will not affect the unified structure of the Canadian Forces.
