It was hard to sink one,had lump in my throat..Also it took 2 torpedoes and deck gun fire to sink her.she didn't go down easy..

Out of curiosity - does anyone know if the larger lakers of 400-500 feet ever traded on the Atlantic during the war? Or were only the smaller ships able to reach the ocean? I have never been able to get a satisfactory answer to this.

Lakers are one of my favourite merchant ships, they have a slender unique design and sinking it wouldn't be right.
