Default FOTRSU Fuel Consumption

So I've been playing RFB 2.0 for a couple years, and decided to try out FOTRSU as it has some input from some pretty great posters on this site. Overall, seems like a good mod, but has some issues. One is the explosions can be a bit....dramatic. A sampan going off like a nuclear bomb when shot with a deck gun is rather strange lol. But that's nothing too big.

What is more bizarre to me is the seemingly endless fuel of the boats. I started a patrol in Surabaya in an S-boat, went through the Java Sea up to the southern end of Formosa, with an interception of a couple of lone merchants and a convoy on the way. While not hunting a target, speed set to 7 knots (greatest range reported at that speed). I don't remember exact fuel usage, but it was considerably less than 10% of a tank... I could drive that boat around the whole world with range like that. I then sailed back to Fremantle from Formosa at standard speed (worked out to about 10 knots in smooth seas). Went around the North end of the Phillipines, down through the Molucca Sea, through the Banda Sea, slipped past Timor and then down the western edge of Australia. Nowhere NEAR the shortest route and I still had LOTS of fuel left when I reached Fremantle (I didn't check the actual %...silly me). All in, that's a ballpark of 7,480 NM (calculated off of google earth...so...there's that). The greatest range I could find was somewhere around 7,000 NM I believe.

This is actually the second career I started as I thought I had unlimited fuel on the first time...

So what I'm wondering here is two things. First, is that "range at current speed" that's reported an operating range (how far you can go and still make it home), or an actual range (how many NM can I travel)? The second is which mod is closer to reality? This would NOT have been possible in RFB, but that doesn't mean it's realistic. In the S-boats, I'd be pushing my fuel supplies on nearly every patrol. With FOTRSU, I don't even really have to look at it.

I agree with you

That is an error in the mod .

Perhaps not game breaking, but still a big immersion breaker when you just can cruise all around the world in one tank

Perhaps the fuel consumption could be imported from TMO? If that is allowed

The fuel consumption in TMO works flawless, but in all other aspect except the enemy AI FOTRSU is way better than TMO , that’s at least from my point of view :-)
