Thank you. Normally I ask things like that in a PM, but since we were already talking about the sig, I figured it was a good time to remind everybody.

In the future I'll only
(if ever) mention WWII sub armaments.

There's nothing wrong with a good discussion and threads get sidetracked all the time. I just didn't want it to get too far into a discussion of rights and guns politics. As I said, we aready have several of those going on in the General Topics forum.

All is cool. Thanks.

No worries
As I'm quite familiar with my mates' kind of humour (at least I think so) it was all just an outbreak of my own inferior kind of humour

This mod is the best sound mod i tried so far

But...i found out some of the data/sound/files couldn't be played on my PC, and furthermore giving me errors when trying to read them.
It was dirctly related to my CTDs when selecting torpedo tube and/or open tube.

So i replaced those broken sounds files one by one (mainly in TDC part) by stock SH5 ones, and CTDs are gone

Don't know if it's coming from corrupted download, or if it's coming from my PC sound card...

Hi Stormfly!

First, i'm really glad i can use your mods again!

I'll give you the list of the sound files giving me errors in a few minutes.
It was media player wich couldn't read them...
No, i didn't try to re-download.

But since my little manipulation, no one little CTD

Here are the sound files not working on my rig:

HUD_Click
TDC_AngleOnBow
TDC_Pistol_I
TDC_Range
TDC_Speed
TDC_Speed_S
TDC_TubeSelection

But on french forum, other guy didn't experience any trouble with it, so it's probably a download corruption

Same here: some of the sounds listed by Fifi are silent, and others don't open at all in Windows Media Player

Maybe my PC is more sensible to this than yours
But now i'm sure it was related to this reading problem, cause since 2 full days i don't have CTD anymore.

Exactly that. Glad i'm not alone

Little note: since i replaced those files with stock one, i can now hear the little "clic" sound when selecting something and same little "clic" sound when turning my periscope for each degree.
In fact, little thing, but i like it

Hi all

A small fix mayb this what i did i am no sound enginer

1, i downloaded Audacity
2, i then copy the above sound files from Stormy`s DBSM collection
to my desktop
3, inported one file in to Audacity to see if i could here it, which i could
4, i then exported it to a new folder on desktop, i did not change eventhink
so i repeated it for the ever files, Now this is the funny bit they now play back in Windows Media Player
4 So i copy the new files over the top of old one in Stormy`s DBSM collection ,

Now all works But and Yes they is always a but the
HUD_Click file as no wave in it its just a flat line

Hope is helps
dem

Sound is a funny thing Her in doors keeps going on a bit,
All cos i playing sh5

I can confirm dem's finding (files opened with wavepad in my case). Those files are not corrupted: they are in a compressed wav format not recognized by Windows Media Player and, according to Fifi's report, by SH5

HUD_Click is probably silent on purpose.
