bullhorn Missions/Patrols ([partly] historical) NEW

Considering the generally known situation, the one or the other might be a bit bored and no "Corona".... left in the humidor but "the election of horror" at the door?

I have therefore decided to bring forward a release that was actually planned later. If you are interested in missions / patrols that deviate considerably from the usual convoy - submarine - boom-boom, a look at these missions might be interesting.

It is a mission pack that is divided into parts 1 and 2. Part 1 contains beside the missions/patrols some small mods, which are partly encores and partly have to be installed, because otherwise there will be difficulties with one or the other mission. Mission Packs and Mods require that SH 4 Wolves
of the Pacific 1.5 (with UBM) and with FotRS (Fall of theRising Sun)_Ultimate_v0.80_RC1 (...and 2 but not necessary)_PublicBeta_EN are installed!
Most likely everything will work with newer versions of Ultimate, but not backwards. I couldn't test this or all missions/patrols in detail yet. This is also partly impossible due to different development possibilities of the actions. However, in the given constellation of stock+UBM version and Ultimate Mod, all missions are tested executable.

This should be enough for the moment. Detailed readmes and a general illustrated description of contents can be found in the downloads, of course. The latter can also be downloaded here:

That is something I would look forward to! I've found numerous missions built to historical (sometime hysterical events) but nothing integrated into a campaign. I think you would have to sidestep random generation. I've always wanted to see a historical campaign written about the late war push with the Philippines.

Good luck and I hope to see your creation!!

Hi!

Mainly historically oriented campaigns with integrated "special missions" would certainly be a nice thing , but, according to my findings, not feasible.
On the one hand there are not so many incisive events and on the other hand the data acquisition and evaluation of a single specific combat action alone is a huge piece of work. If implemented in a campaign, Sisiphos would send its best wishes!

You would think that the WPLs (war patrol logs) of the boats would be a good source to get at least some accurate position information. But far from it. Certainly, the regular correct determination of position was often difficult at that time (especially for submarines). But if you compare maps and different sources, you ask yourself who or what was plotting there or you escape into laughter!

Just the work of finding out who has to start where and when with which course and speed, e.g. to be at a certain place at a fixed time for a certain sinking, is therefore usually already delphic (oracle - you know ).

It would be enough for me if missions that deviate from the eternal hodgepodge were to be incorporated into the campaign. Of course "patrol area & Co." was the normal case. But as the saying goes: "Variatio delectat!

Another - for me - important point would be to clarify whether the Mission Editor can be modded? Nobody knows about a certain function, what it stands for and it would be worth knowing if you could add other things? I would certainly have some ideas, which in turn could be used to create interesting missions.

Finally, it would be very nice if it were possible, like in the old Silent Hunter (1), to set up a way to earn medals during normal patrols outside the campaign. Side effect, if an experienced modder would deal with it, would be, that it could be clarified, according to which strange criteria the medals are sometimes awarded.

But since I do not believe that there is any interest in this matter, any further intellectual examination of it is also obsolete.
In the meantime, have fun with my little works and have a good hunt!
