My father been gone since before I was born, but my mother will be here. My 2 evil cousins who both ate wounds in Afghanistan. Real bastards they are, but great Americans, and overall cool guys.

That is what Christmas is about. Even if your not religious, you can enjoy it for the togetherness. I got Jewish friends have Christmas trees.

Gifting is more for kids, but the family getting together has always been magical.

I'm all sentimental, someone start a political thread, fast!
I agree with you. Being at peace with yourself and family is a gift within itself. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL FOR YOU ARE MY EXTENDED FAMILY.

Default I Think Everyone Needs To See This.

I'm sick and tired of the whole "happy holidays" thing. Go Fish explains it much better than I ever could......

It's not Xmas or Happy Holidays.

Merry Christmas one and all.

it becomes a very welcome basic need.

10 days without power from that nasty girl Sandy., then losing it (again) 7 hours after getting it back, because a wet snowstorm borked things up. I feel ya, and am with ya.

It got windy the other night, and my buddy at work complained, I said "Just as long as I got power for Christmas day." All I thought of, was losing power again, for a week plus.

Sandy was a real witch. Too bad Hurricanes cannot be blamed or executed for their crimes against humanity.

It is amazing how much you miss it when you do not have it.

Actually it is. "X" has been a common reference for Christ for at least 1000 years."X" is the first letter of the Greek word for Christ, Χριστός. In 1100 or thereabouts the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle said it as ""Xpes mæsse".

Several of the Founding Fathers fairly consistently used "Xtian" as a substitute for "Christian".

I appreciate your sentiment, support it in fact, but you should get your facts straight before railing against a certain usage.
