Saw a travel documentary yesterday, "Amerika ungeschminkt", on the US in late summer and early autumn last year. A very gloomy and sobering show it was.

They had a resident interviewed in a park in New York. I try to quote by memory what he said. It went like this:

"This is a very polarized country, there are two sides and they hve no more shared ground on which to meet and communicate. 70 or 80% of Republicans still seriously believe that Trump had won the election, and that Democrats run a child pornography ring from some pizza restaurant in a pizza restaurant's backyard in New York. And this QAnon stuff, its madness. There is only absurd extremist claims, but no more shared communication code. We cannot even agree anymore what "reality" is, what "facts" to argue over. Everybody breeds his own "facts". Everybody constructs his own wanted reality instead. But under such circumstances, any attempt to talk and have any form of a discussion must stall from start on. There are just two separate sides that stand irreconcilably against each other. I am very pessimistic for the future."

By memory and in my words, but more or less this is what he said.

He also said that this was already so sinc b efore Corona, that Corona does not have much to do with the change and growing hostility, polarization, in the socio-cultural climate.

And at another opportunity they had a guy saying this: "The American dream? You must be deep asleep to dream it."

They also said that NY had 66 million tourists in 2019 - and now ojnly a microscopic fraction of that is coming. With al the finciaol fallout this brings for all te amyn businesses and people who deepend on tourists. Said one guy: "This city is no more what it used to be, its completely different."

Many other impression from three other regiosn across the contient gave even more depressing impressions. What the images and given informaiton do sclsed, was that of a country in steep decline and accelerating social polarization. Many city scenes rem ineded me of places I have seen myself: in the nineties, in Northenr Africa and the Middle East.

The streets' "quality" and the chaotic gridlines I have also seen before. In the GDR.

I think, as a foreigner and stranger from this far away perspective, that the US society no longer cna claim to be a model to crave for. Its a dystopia now. Don'twake up, so that you can continue to dream of the American dream.

Travel impressions from autumn last year. Subjective. But sometimes things can be subjective - and nevertheless be applicable.

No I don’t think they are either. However, I just read the article. It seems to me communist plots and revolutions may have just been a figure of political speech/pandering. Her real concern was the reported 18,000 deaths and the 28,000 now permanently disabled since receiving the vaccine.

I brought this up before asking if you can imagine if that many died from eating some Oreo cookies? There would be such a public outcry to investigate and holy hell to pay which would put Nabisco or whoever makes those fat pills out of business. But this vaccine? Not one peep, in fact I would go so far and say media does their best to squash any critical questions regarding vaccines or inquiry into alternative treatments and what’s working around the world.

It’s weird I read in the news how mandate Nazis in New York lock down travel, businesses, and such.

But guess what I see here in Florida? Cars with New York license plates are everywhere I guess snowbirds on vacation. Hell even AOC was down here dining without a mask on while her constituents back home take a bite of the big Democrat poop sandwich.

Recent polls:


Almost 4 in 5 Republicans say that the Donald had won the election.
Over one third of Americans say Biden is an illegitimate president.
At least 1 in 11 Americans believes in QAnon conspiracies.

No evidence ever was given. Over 60 attempts by Republicans to overturn election results at court, have been shot down by judges.

The quick coup d'etat on January 6th 2021 had been prevented at last minute, with last breath. Since then, the US is under siege by an ongoing creeping coup that now has its accomplices crawling and sneaking into supportive influential positions, along with supportive alteration (manipulation) of legislation at Republican states level.

The question is not wether the US is desintegrating, social-culturally. It does. The only question is whether it can stop this process again before reaching its completion.

I have strong doubts. Its said the self-healing powers of the US are strong, and that history holds exampels for that. But I fear this time its beyond the point of no return already.

The Danish reporter in USA said that Trump is still popular among the Rep. He also said that half of the Rep don't like him but vote for him anyway and the other half love him.

Going to be interesting to see whether he runs solo or run for Rep(GOP I think they also are called)

If he runs solo he will steal thousand of votes from Rep. and Dem will win, whoever they put up as candidate.

A good speech Biden gave, I must admit that. It will acchieve nothing, however. Because there is no more shared code of communication and no more shared ground on defining what "reality" is. Many loosers out there for whom the American Dream has failed, sometimes due to their faults, sometimes without their fault. Its a corrupt system. It breeds ever more corruption, and for every winner it breeds five or ten thousand loosers struggling to merely exist from one day to the next. It reminds of the Hunger Games in Panem. Insanity rules. Malicious craving for power at all cost has destroyed the political culture. The tree, looking big and mighty in silhouette, has become rotten from within. Knock on it, and you hear a hollow sound.

The Donald meanwhile has emptied and thrown off some garbage bins in the backyard, recorded the loud noise on tape and gave that to the media as his reply. The mob is applauding. The handclapping ventilates the stink all over the place again.
