Default US Navy WW II War Damage Reports

To All,

Another great resource - several of the US Navy WW II war damage reports are available on-line at:

http://www.dcfp.navy.mil/cgi-bin/WarSummary.cgi

If you are interested in seeing the real world effects of a variety of WW II weapons on various WW II ships, you really need to see these. Unfortunately many of the original 11" X 17" fold outs have not been scanned, so the information is mostly in text. Some of these diagrams have been scanned, such as those concerning the loss of USS Helena at Kula Gulf. Be that as it may, I can not recommend these highly enough. You might even get an idea of what to demand from the next version of DC!

I remember studying these reports while I was a student at Damage Control Assistant School in the mid 1980's; at the time they were classified confidential. They were declassified in 1994.

Enjoy!
