Based on official reported COVID-19 deaths, we estimated that vaccinations prevented 14·4 million (95% credible interval [Crl] 13·7–15·9) deaths from COVID-19 in 185 countries and territories between Dec 8, 2020, and Dec 8, 2021. This estimate rose to 19·8 million (95% Crl 19·1–20·4) deaths from COVID-19 averted when we used excess deaths as an estimate of the true extent of the pandemic, representing a global reduction of 63% in total deaths (19·8 million of 31·4 million) during the first year of COVID-19 vaccination. In COVAX Advance Market Commitment countries, we estimated that 41% of excess mortality (7·4 million [95% Crl 6·8–7·7] of 17·9 million deaths) was averted. In low-income countries, we estimated that an additional 45% (95% CrI 42–49) of deaths could have been averted had the 20% vaccination coverage target set by COVAX been met by each country, and that an additional 111% (105–118) of deaths could have been averted had the 40% target set by WHO been met by each country by the end of 2021.

Covid infections are continuing to rise in the UK, the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show.

The data suggests about 1.7 million people were estimated to have Covid in the week ending 18 June.

This is about one in 35 people - an increase of 23% on the week before.

Experts say two new fast-spreading subvariants of Omicron - called BA.4 and BA.5 - are likely to be driving new infections.

BA.4 and BA.5 now make up more than half of new Covid infections in England, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) says.

UKHSA officials expect more people to test positive in the next few weeks.

People can catch the newer variants even if they have had coronavirus recently.

^ As said before, something smells rotten with the mRNA vaccinations, and the suspicous behaviour of Pfizer does not make it better.

I took three jabs, two by Pfizer, one by Moderna. So I am not suspcious of being a total vaccination opponent - I am not. But I am currently not willing to ever take a fourth mRNA jab - no matter the desease it vaccinates against. The case with the Covid-19 mRNA vaccines has become too dubious, in my percpetion, the behaviour of the companies being too shady, and dubious. They have had time enough to produce all data demanded by law for full certifications, and still they haven't published it. Evben the OPfoizer documents that a court ordered them to publish, they did not hand over without blackening statistical key variables. Thats the behaviour of a suspect who tries to hide something at all cost.

Pfizer has asked the authorities in Europe but also in North America to accept that they would not do human clinical trials for the next vaccine mixture this fall, and instead demand the full (!) approval this time on the exclusive data basis from animal trials! I thought I did not read it correctly when I red it.

Unacceptable. They have climbed steeply on my hostility scale this year. Good faith and the benefit of doubt invested for one and a half year - and gotten betrayed, I think, at least partially. Fool me once: shame on you. Fool me twice: shame on me.

And shame on you for pushing them upon others here in this forum. You were one of the worst vaccine Karens here. You should apologize to everyone that you tried to bully into following your lead into failure.
