With an election looming on the horizon there is a good chance COVID-19 may affect peoples ability or desire to go out and vote at the usual prescribed place.

What are the alternatives of having to gather with others, identify yourself in person and vote in the same booth someone with a zombie virus just used? How else could votes be counted, who will count them, and what about potential for voter fraud? What are the chances a contingent election might be held and the House of Representatives have vote in the next chief executive?

If you were looking for a way to cause a civil war that'd do it I think.

Ahh here come the all knowing Masters of the Obvious to tell us the error of days gone by! Where were you when we needed a prophet?

Hah, most of us could see this coming in late Jan. The people we expect leadership from were mentally deficient.

What scares me is, the President pushing to get the country up and running again. On one hand I realize we need to, on the other hand, until a vaccine comes along to fight this virus and give us a chance against it, I'd be scared to go back to work, and makes me glad I am retired. With my lung condition and age, I wouldn't stand a chance against even a mild case of it. Feel sorry for folks who have to make the choice about going back to work before there is a vaccine finally. Would be scary as hell I think.

The wise were always there, even in your country, and already in early Decembre. You just refused to ask or to listen to them, and instead followed the ignorrants, for their lies sounded sweeter in your ears.

And afterwards you complain about the wiser having been right. Where as the mistakes of your leaders both past and present get excused until today - with the most absurd of explanations.

Why you sweatin' our leaders? lol Anyway it happened on the Eurasian continent you know that right? That land mass you live on, right smack dab in your own backyard. Your right though we should acted much faster. Come to think about it the E.U. didn't appear to much care about border closure until we shut the door on you. It was spreading like a wild fire in your own Schengen lovin' area, even Fauci said we needed to act fast because the E.U. allowed itself to become more dangerous to us than China. Think of all the lives we could have saved in France, Spain and Italy had the U.S. Canada, Mexico and Australia and others acted sooner to motivate you all to finally close your external borders.

Skybird one thing I do, know nobody is going have a good answer until well after the dust settles. There is just waaay to much, economic, medical, supply chain, serology, science etc etc data to sift through to get the real needed answers to prepare for the next time. One thing I'm not going to do is rely on knee jerk reactions from journalists, political rags, editorials, hacks and shills or overly simplistic hindsight from the NYT for those answers.

Time to say good-bye to Dr. Fauci, Trump has tweeted he should be fired for not towing the line of bull coming out of the White House!

Haven't seen that but it's not surprising. Wonder who's next, ummmmm, ahhh, oh yes, Tree Stump! Dr. Tree Stump will take Fauci's place and safely say nothing counter to our fearless leader's drool.

Well, its isn't too late to not survive this thing.
When will the GOP have enough and dust off the 25th amendment?

Louisville, Kentucky, Mayor Greg Fischer to ban drive-in church services on Easter.

Fischer declared that drive-in Easter services would be illegal.

His order would have barred Christians from driving to their church parking lots and sitting in their vehicles for Easter services—all while maintaining proper social distancing—while imposing no such restrictions on drive-up and drive-through restaurants, liquor stores, grocery stores, or parking lots generally.
Quote:
In Michigan, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has taken it upon herself to declare what items are and are not “essential,” dictating to grocery stores what they can and cannot sell as part of a sweeping order issued Friday.

Among the nonessential, and therefore banned, items are fruit and vegetable plants and seeds. Never mind that growing fruits and vegetables at home right now would help maintain social distancing during the pandemic, the governor has spoken and her word is law. (Lottery tickets, on the other hand, are still permitted.)
That these kind of arbitrary rules and bans are being enacted by petty tyrants like Whitmer is disturbing. Nothing like a crisis to bring out the best in politicians.

That these officials need to be reminded of that, and in some cases restrained by federal judges, bodes very ill for America.

From what I read in our news earlier today I could see that your tv-channels like CNN and so on, interrupted the press meeting with President Trump.

Had something to do with propaganda.

Those tv-channel was not interested in broadcasting Trump generated propaganda, a CNN employee said.

I did not see this "propaganda generated press meeting"

It made me remember what Platapus once wrote in a comment many, many month back.

It's not a federal offence being/acting a/as jerk.

Then this question pops-up

What if his acting(which some of you may classify as acting as a jerk)
is jeopardising ten thousand of American life.

I mean there must be a limit to how much your President can act as a "jerk"

(It's very difficult to write a comment in a neutral way. 'cause I can see my comment is written in a anti-Trump way of a comment, which is not in my interest)
