I was testing my boat last night... but the eyes of my chief engineer said: "enough of that reckless behaviour, let's surface' Didn't want to die so for once i followed his advice.

I've tried to find an actual source for B. Franklin making that statement. Several attribute it to him, but no one ever cites an actual reference.

It's still a great saying, though, and somebody certainly said it. If I were to use it I would be tempted to subtitle it "Commonly attributed to Benjamin Franklin".

Stabiz: nice shot, that DD coming out of the fog. Nice shot on his part, too, but it really sucks to be you right at that point.

Yeah, that hit got me jumping in my chair. The crash dive helped a bit, but then I got dc`ed pretty badly, and landed on the seafloor (70 meters) with a thump. That killed one of my propellors.

The following sequence almost "HunterIXC U-9"ed me, but I managed to survive, mainly because of some wild zig-zagging. Type VIIC! U-52 still lives!

(And I got the bugger with an acoustic homing torp! )

From my current patrol in progress

After a flight of Liberators bombed my base

Close Encounters of the Explosive Kind

The aftermath of a raid on Brest
Exploding French tramp steamer

After the smoke cleared

Sinking medium tanker. Stubborn, but sinking

Sunken troop transport, settled on the bottom

The only warship anywhere near the entire port

Sorry dial-up guys!
