Final shopping trip today between three supermarkets and whilst they were busy it wasn't all that bad apart from getting into and out of the respective car parks.

The wife had me make a serious promise I would behave myself and curb my temper which was just as well because a fair proportion of the motorists we encountered gave the impression they were not skilled enough to manoeuvre a pram never mind a motor vehicle.

I came home yesterday after a five-day stay in the hospital. I went in Wednesday for an Iron Transfusion. Because of the intestinal woes I had cancelled several appointments the previous week, including one with the GI department; the very people who've been trying to help with my insides.

They asked if I could stay overnight, and I agreed. They kept me another day, and another. Then they wanted me to check into a Rehab Unit to help with my falling problem. I said I would gladly go there every day, but there was no way I was going to live away from my computer and my life for another six weeks.

So I came home yesterday, and the ongoing intestinal problem kept me up all last night. I've tried to do my laundry, but I can't seem to stay focused long enough to get anything done. Maybe I'll sleep tonight.

The stockings are filled and literally 'hung by the fire with care'.

Brunch is in the works as the kids are due to arrive...along with the rain. So the evening's ribroast dinner with all trimmings, incl. a magnificent local Louis Martini 2013 Gnarly Vine Zinfandel, will probably be from the oven and not the patio Weber BBQ...a serious consideration on a full tummy, as I'm always the cleanup guy after my better-half's superb chefing! (Quid pro quo101 ?? She cooks; I clean!

) One of my stocking gifts is two propane cannisters for the grill...always useful in Napa's 'quake-prone country!
