No watch crew on the surface?
I know this game is riddled with bugs, and there are a heap of people complaining that their watch crew don't report ship sightings or don't leave the bridge when submerged.
Well to be honest, I'd just be happy to have a watch crew! I'm still doing the very first mission around Poland at the start of the war. I submerged to torpedo the freighter just off my starboard bow, and the watch crew all scrambled down the ladder. That the last I've seen of them! I returned to the surface expecting them to automatically man the conning tower. Nope! Is there something I should be doing to get them back? I've spoken to all the crew to look for a command to make them return. Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but I couldn't find it after looking for several hours. |

Poland is a tutorial mission. When you are done with it the watch crew will be back to normal.

Ummm... not necessarily. I'm working on my first real patrol and the watch crew did not man their stations when I surfaced. Seems to be an intermittent thing. I'm hoping they'll show up after a game reload.

Yeah I've had the bug where there's no watch crew. I saved and reloaded - it seemed to fix it

Yeah - I spoke to soon.
I've just resurfaced after sinking a Polish Hog Island frieghter on my 1st real mission, but the watch crew failed to return again I'll try reloading as you suggest... Last edited by ajoleary; 03-20-10 at 06:14 AM. |

It worked...they're back after reload.
Hope I don't have to do that each time! |

watch crew
I have the same issue, but i think it's the first mission ,"poland". Hope so anyway. Also I have another issue with the periscope. The periscope keeps extending and I have to constanitly keep lowering it.

You probably mean the Observation Periscope. As you see in your sub, the ocular (the thing you look into) is hidden in the floor, so you must raise the scope to be able to look through it (thus you can't fully lower it when looking through it). Attack periscope has a different ocular, so you can fully lower it while still looking.

Stock game the periscope auto rises, when you first load the game. some members of this forum pointed out the the sub was just happy to see you.
I beleive TheDarkWrath fixed this issue in his UI mod.
