@Rockstar: EU member states are free to close their borders as needed, no permission from the EU is required.

Yes my understanding is a single member state may temporarily reestablish their old border controls for up to 30 days (did anyone do that?). However if the entire Schengen Area is at risk the Council may, based on a proposal from the Commission, recommend that one or more Member States decide to reintroduce border control at all or at specific parts of their internal borders.
Your Schengen area was at risk and your Council didn't act to close the borders of Schengen Area until it was way over due.

From my perspective, this is what made the decision to close the Schengen Area not the individual Sovereign. Kinda looks like the U.N. and we all know how effective that is.

And of course your appointed President.

On a side note take a look at https://flightaware.com/live/ it seems everyone is still importing and exporting COVID-19.

Yes. Number of countries did close their borders either partially or fully prior to any 'permission' from the EU. And again, no permission is needed. If all Schengen area countries decide to close their borders then it is irrelevant whether the Schengen agreement stays on or is suspended since no free travel takes place anyway.

I'm wondering? Has EU helped Italy or Spain with the covid-19 problem or have they just been worried about themselves in their own little countries?

Oh my bad. All those sovereign nations acting in unison the day after, what the 17th of March was it? 4 months after Coronavirus had been made known to the world closed their borders. This right after the appointed E.U. president made her announcement regarding Schengen. That was just a coincidence, got it.

Malta, Slovakia and the Czech Republic -all of which are Schengen countries- announced they close their borders on March 13.

So, again, no permission from EU needed.

Regarding this border controls

Denmark have had border controls since Jan. 2016 and have been extended several times.
Every time the Danish government does this, they have so to say been
called on the carpet by the EU.

It is however first time they have closed the border so tight as they have now.

They do have their problems but who can ignore the complete disaster Trumpo is inflicting upon himself.

If he has been wise and proactive and taken this seriously, he would be a hero.

He didn't, so he's a bumbling idiot. Pretty simple.

Exactly this. He is an idiot put in charge of a situation he doesn't know how to handle so he reverts to downplay its seriousness and giving false hope and reassurances. It's dangerous and reckless.

And yet President Trumps approval rating both against the virus and in general continues to rise in spite of your views. Go figure right?
