Meanwhile in addition to Putin and Medvedev working from home (their out of city residences) there seems to be a designated survivor securely underground - Patrushev.

Perhaps for only a set amount of time like 60 days (if that much)

Leaves the argument for the democrats to introduce free health care for all, which will never work.

The VA is a good example of free health care for veterans, but takes three months to get an appointment to see what's wrong with you

Hopeful signs as hard-hit Italy sees its lowest daily death toll in over two weeks.

Worldwide cases pass 1.2m, at least 65,000 people have died and 252,000 recovered.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock tells UK it is "mission critical" that people follow the government's rules.

Those flouting distancing guidance are told: "You are risking your own life and the lives of others."

The Queen will thank NHS staff and key workers today in a rare televised address.

The UK's death toll has risen by 621 to 4,934, latest figures show.

You tell me:

But he did serve as FSB director 1999-2008. Basically he is an important but not very visible/public politician.

Could the number of cases be going down due to some people just plain don't want to know?

The distance thing is a laugh with the virus is now airborne as Traveller and Sky stated many post ago.

All you have to do is breathe it in and that can even be from a safe distance.
Sure the 6' rule helps, but if he or she sneezes it could be 30 meters and not be safe.

One lady that was dying said, "I didn't know you get it from just talking to someone"

No, but similar behaviour.. Patrushev is one of those who is supposed - together with Putin - to have planned the poisoning of FSB whistleblower Alexander Litvinenko in England.

The numbers are not going down, and they won't be going down anytime soon. Most countries are still in the beginning of the exponential phase. But you are right: At the moment the number of infections is correlated strongly to the number of tests carried out (Germany: 500k tests per week / Japan: 500k tests since the beginning of the plague. And take a look at the numbers from France reported yesterday and today). So if people refuse to test...

In Germany and many other countries the rules are: No symptoms, no test (Except personnel in hospitals etc.). Mild symptoms but no contact to a known case, no test. Stay at home, that's it.

And this is exactly why I consider those posts so wrong and dangerous: Safety in times of Corona is never 100%. But you can reduce the risk. The distance thing is not a laugh, it is the result of a reasonable assessment. Not everybody has access to masks to protect themselves (and if you have a box of FFP2/3 masks carry it to next hospital, act responsibly), but everybody can wash their hands. Do not stop the washing, cause you have no mask (You get the point).

See: Mr. Bird's seed falls on fertile ground. We were talking 1,5-2 meters, then 8 meters, now 30 meters. It's ridiculous. Please read the MIT study then make up your mind. Nobody on this planet exactly knows how far this virus can travel in the air. Mr. Bird hopes for the worst (Not only in this thread, he is driven by fear).

So calm down everybody! I hope we will have a antibody quick test available soon. If the lion share of the population can test at reasonable costs and get their results in a couple of minutes, we will know who can go on with their lives and help the economy to survive, who does not need protective measures in their hospital /police/ essential job. People will wear badges: "I survived Corona - free hugs." Believe me.

If you think you'll be any better served by Biden you'd be very disappointed.

Poor guy, it's not like he can just take off his "Trump2020" shirt before he goes under someone else's care.
