Default Did someone notice that ?

I played the Uboat German campaign ver 1.5 and stuff...

There is a mission (randomly I guess I picked it) where you have to prevent a task force leaving from SW Australia to Ceylon. In this task force (it has a special icon - big red insignia - marked on the navigation map) there are two Heavy Kent class cruisers, a light cruiser and 5 escort destroyers. After a long battle I finished them off, but when I got rid of the escort, I've noticed, despite the fact that one heavy cruiser turned back and headed right to me (I wet my pants because I was at the surface with the U Boat) THEY DON'T USE THEIR BIG GUNS !
Bottom line is that the "LUX" warship models are just for the....picture, they don't ACT at all ! Is this the way the SH4 was supposed to be or am I missing something ? I noticed in some video where were battles that the big warships FIRE their GUNS ! Can anyone clarify this issue for me please ?

Simply put if they saw you on the surface two kent class cruisers
shouldve shared credit for killing you. theres something wrong.

Ive tried this mission twice.

First time the convoy never appeared on the map.

Second time I couldent get into a positon for attack. The convoy was steaming at what I calculated at around 20 knots.

So yea uhhh I never noticed this

Might be better off posting in the uhhh... proper section of the forums to get a better response.

Come on guys!!! NOBODY really noticed that ???????...
Or who knows...maybe you didn't notice because nobody is interested in hunting warships or they think as I THOUGHT, that is advisible not to be on surface when you have a warship filling your periscope view ....lol
I still wait for your feedbacks; be a good chap and tell me what you think please...

Just a suggestion. Try to replicate the situation in the mission editor. Create a task force, put your sub on surface in a convenient position and see if they do fire at you or not. Speaking for myself, I never was in the situation you described. I usually am at PD when chasing anything bigger than a fishing boat

I've had an Iowa class open up from VERY long range, and literally oblierate me, not mention the amount of aircraft you see with an alerted Carrier.

Default End of the road...

Well I really, now, think there was a bug (or something) because yesterday I played another mission and I stalked a task force (13 ships, 4 big cruisers) and I sunk most of them .One , "New Mexico" a heavy cruiser was just badly damaged but didn't sunk. The sunset was coming and I had to go surface somehow to reload the torpedoes so I head north for 4 km and stopped there under the night cover and reloaded.Meanwhile it was a short battle near the damaged cruisers (there were still 4 heavy destroyers "alive") because I called for help "cavalery" ( a two destroyers team) but they got busted quickly. There were two or four aircraft two but they were shot down fast (I don't know where they came from ).However in the morning with all tubes full i headed south to the damaged cruisers but approached carefully. I fired two torpedoes from 2,5 km but they "rebalanced" the cruiser....lol and I tried to shoot with the gun deck. When I did that the big guns turned to me very slowly.I was waiting to see if they fire.Guess what...THEY DID!!! the triple heavy guns fire in a slow rate but they...FIRE.I had to reload the game because two rounds of cruiser's heavy guns knocked me down....lol
So I guess this thread is close folks..
