Yes, in my opinion, this mod is by far the one that makes the game most enjoyable. Thanks mate.
Tar, I don't know what to say. Do you really find the targets to be scarce in this mod ? I kinda like it like this, it makes me appreciate more a juicy tanker when a find one. Last edited by Kruger; 11-20-08 at 03:06 AM. |

For me this mod makes the ocean a little too lonely, and I want to have more contacts and targets to make the gaming experience better. “And don’t blame me for enjoying pizza better than burgers ” So I want to repeat my earlier question: Is there some "easy" way to increase number of targets/contacts for this mod? (easy, because im not an experienced modder/tweaker ) Is there a mod I can use to get more targets/contacts? Is there some way to tweak lurkers mod so I get more targets/contacts? |

Basically, if you want more contacts, here are a few courses of action: 1. Learn where the major shipping lanes are located and try to hunt there. RSRDC uses a lot of historical information including shipping traffic patterns. 2. Lurk around harbors and entry points to harbors. There's generally a bit more traffic but that will depend on the year. 3. Install RFB or TMO and don't install RSRDC. 4. Play stock. Good Hunting!

I have been able to maintain an average of 20K tons per patrol (I play TMO + RSRDC), and my patrols usually last for 3 weeks-1 month. I don't raid ports (it's not historically correct), but DeepIron has given some good advice. |

That is good results . Stay with the lanes and you will get your targets. Or if in luck you stumble on a taskforce. Met one at the Bungo straits. Hit a BB that got away although damaged. Had to sneak away afterwards in order to survive. => No time to reload and the only "Cutie" I had was already used. Good luck mate. /OB

There are a lot of targets...
if you know where to look. There are maps that show the major shipping lanes throughout the war. If your Intel is being interpreted by your officers correctly you can hunt the supply lanes for the Japanese military operations during the war. With the detailed work lurker_hlb3 with the historical shipping records MOD, you will find targets that are supplying these operations. Invasions have staging areas, know where they are, wait in the proper place and RSRDC will reward you.
I usually start in Manila since there seem to be more targets early on from that location and you can get an S boat. I generally avoid capital ships and concentrate on merchants. On your first patrol stay south of the tip of Formosa. Later switch to the Celebes Sea area where several shipping lanes converge for a lot of targets. Also sitting in the shipping lanes out of Singapore is a good hunting ground. |

@lurker_hlb3: Did you include the AI_Jap_Sub in your mod? If so I've got a question: Yesterday I've sunk a Japanese sub and the sinking showed up in my on board logbook. But when I looked at the map there was no "ship sunk" symbol and when I returned to port the game didn't count the sub either. Do you know why?
BTW: I love your mod, really great work! P.S. I use TMO 1.5.2 and the latest version RSRD |
