Dank wet cool day here today unlike Monday hot dry and a strange looking sky all Orange very freaky. Bought a new TV and finally join the digital age, that is too say not using a digital set top box connected to a old analog TV.
Oh I have a question and it may sound silly. I see I can connect a USB stick to the TV if the USB had a virus or other would it infect the TV?

^ most probably not, however if it is conected to the Internet via Lan or Wlan an automatic update sometimes (seldom) screws up something. Back to works settings and repeat update usually helps.
If it is a Samsung TV it will also transfer all you say to its masters.. "Please be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party through your use of Voice Recognition." https://www.cnet.com/how-to/samsung-smart-tv-spying/ Together with image/face recognition there's no space to hide anymore. But do not worry, Keep calm and obey then you have nothing to fear

Just having dinner after a 5:00 AM start to move a sailboat up the Napa River 15 miles for a haul-out to repaint the bottom and refit electronics -a welcome break of three weeks from Bay sailing. Even with our computer generated navigation cheat-sheet and two draw-bridges,& we ran aground temporarily in a brackish muddy backwater about 2 miles from our destination after a three hour tour...but arrived at 11:30 with the Catalina and our dignity reasonably intact. Then we waited a few hours more until the tide rose enough to permit the boat to be mechanically sledded and hoisted on the yard-donkey.. all in the heat. It was our first trip up the river on the Nissan 9HP alone-with eleven gallons of gas we were floating bomb. The yard guys are real refit pros and we had bid the job to several marinas; Napa was the closest. The voyage back downriver after the work is finished should be as exciting. The captain will be out-of-state for his mom's 100 birthday, so I get to do the daily check on the boat's refit progress.
