One of those "cool kids" bands where you're supposed to name drop.
Kinda like back in the days when I was supposed to really like Karla Bonoff but she could never deliver.

Also some shades of Gram Parsons I guess?

Still, lots of session talent on the stage so give them a chance, I guess? You might find stuff to enjoy.

I've posted Wall Of Voodoo covering "Ring Of Fire" before in this thread.
This version is a bit of an oddball by YouTube standards since it was the studio cut from their EP.

Look it up on YT and nine times out of ten you'll find the live version filmed for a local TV show.

If anything, the studio cut sounds just a little over-produced to me- but here it is.

A couple days ago, I posted a short video of a young lady named Ellen, playing Bass Guitar. Guitarist Steve Vai became aware of Ellen and Invited her and her father to his home Studio.

In this video, Steve Plays in Concert with Ellen and and another young lady who is playing Lead Guitar. I'm just amazed at their respective talents.

While I really like the live version, the full studio treatment is also pretty good.

Beck said he wrote it as a protest song at a time when there was nothing to protest.
